Mrs. Courtney Speciale

Greetings!

Welcome to East Elementary, where learning is exciting and hands-on and instruction is intentional and targeted!

My name is Courtney Speciale and I am East Elementary's AMSTI Building Based Math Coach.  The 2023-2024 school year will begin my sixteenth year in education. I was hired in 2008 and taught 5th grade my first year at East Elementary and then taught twelve years in the 3rd grade classroom. I graduated from Athens State in 2008, The University of West Alabama in 2010 (M.Ed.), and again from The University of West Alabama in 2014 with an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Elementary Education. I have been married to my husband, Steve, for 9 years and we have two precious children.

I enjoy working with our wonderful classroom teachers and providing professional development opportunities, data analysis, and co-planning/coaching opportunities. Most importantly, I love being in multiple classrooms each day building relationships among teachers and students and continuing to have a positive impact on our students' educational journey!

Welcome to East Elementary, where we provide students with an excellent educational experience by developing each child’s potential.

My name is Danielle Shelton and I am East Elementary School's (EES) ARI Local Reading Specialist. The 2024-2025 school year will begin my eleventh year in education. I have experience in multiple grade levels, which includes the areas of pre-K to 5th grade. This will be my second year to serve as the Local ARI Reading Specialist in Cullman City Schools. I graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2013 with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education (B.S.), again at The University of West Alabama in 2022 with a master's in Early Childhood Education (M.Ed.), and I just recently graduated again from The University of West Alabama with a degree in Teacher Leader in Elementary Education. I am married to my husband, Justin, and we have one little boy, Graham.

I look forward to working with the staff and students at EES to assist with professional development opportunities, data analysis, and co-planning/coaching opportunities. I love helping others to grow and reach their full potential to ensure student success by building relationships among teachers and students. I am excited to be a part of Cullman City schools! Go Bearcats!
